Active ingredient

The active components of the catalyst play a crucial role in the adsorption of reactants and electron transfer during the low-temperature SCR reaction, which directly determines whether the reaction can proceed smoothly and affects the catalytic activity and the selectivity of N2. Common low-temperature SCR catalyst active components are mainly active manganese oxide and cerium dioxide.

Active manganese oxide

The crystal lattice of MNOx contains a large amount of active oxygen, which can effectively promote the low-temperature SCR denitration reaction. The common manganese oxides are mainly MnO2, Mn2O3, M3O4 and Mn5O8, etc., and their roles in SCR denitration reactions are different. The catalyst has good low temperature activity, while Mn2O3 has higher N2 selectivity. The catalytic activity sequence of manganese oxide is: MnO2> Mn5O8> Mn2O3> Mn3O4. It was found that, although pure MNOx has higher low-temperature activity, its N2 selectivity is poor, and it is susceptible to catalyst poisoning due to the influence of SO2 and H2O in flue gas. MNOx is usually combined with other oxides to prepare bimetal or composite oxide catalysts to improve the activity and N2 selectivity of the catalyst and extend the service life of the catalyst.

2.Cerium dioxide

CeO2 has good activity in the low-temperature SCR reaction, and the addition of Ce element in the catalyst can improve the oxygen storage capacity of the catalyst, thereby improving the activity of the catalyst.
